KTM's Kurt Caselli dies at Baja 1000 race.
Feature: 2013 Defending Hare & Hound Champ Kurt Caselli was killed in a racing accident at the Baja 1000 on Friday. The likeable, talented racer was in the lead going into the last leg of the race, when he crashed and died of his injuries on the way to the hospital in Ensenda, Mexico. A very sad day for off road racing.

KTM has released a statement regarding Kurt Caselli’s fatal racing accident in the Baja 1000 yesterday, further clarifying what actually caused the crash. According to KTM, Caselli may have collided with an animal that strayed on to the course, squelching rumors of a man-made “booby trap.”

Critter Caused the Crash...
The crash, also happened in daylight hours and the incident “was merely a racing accident.” according to eyewitnesses on the scene.
The KTM release said that, “Kurt was in a leading position when he suffered a crash that resulted in severe head trauma. He died of his injuries in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico.
“The team, who have now recovered Kurt's bike, discovered traces on the machine that indicate he had collided with some animal, which apparently caused the crash.”
A clean shaven Kurt Caselli at a WORCs event in 2010....Kurt was a true off road racer and loved racing Hare & Hound, the Desert, and Endurocross....we miss him already.
A hole in our hearts....
