Classic flat track pic: Skip Van Leeuwen, Joe Leonard and J.C. Agajanian at Ascot Park
Three iconic figures of dirt sport racing. From left to right-Skip Van Leeuwen, Joe Leonard and legendary race promoter J.C. Agajanian. All three have been inducted into the AMA Hall of Fame, with Leonard and Agajanian also being inducted into the sports car hall of fame as well. The trophy girl is probably someones grandma by now. Just saying....

You couldn't ask to meet three more prominent men in the annuals of motosport racing. Skip Van Leeuwen and Joe Leonard banged bars in the formative days of professional dirt track racing in the mid to early sixties. J.C. Agajanian was the showman and gentleman motosports promoter that ran Ascot Park and sponsored INDY car racing back in the day. Skip showed us a treasure trove of vintage racing pics and had a story to tell about each one. Look for that in an upcoming digital page flip version of DIRT ILLustrated soon. Great stuff.
